Oath taking ceremony in the Hellenic Military Academy

It is this time of the day where you and your best buddy are going for your evening walk. Right across the street you see him. A young man, dressed in a complex uniform holding a couple of bags. He is probably waiting for the bus, or a taxi, or one of his friends who has a car.

After a few seconds observing, you realise that he is some sort of an Officer in the Army. You’ve seen enough movies to get that … right ?

What you don’t really know is that, that man, could be an Officer, but he ain’t .. yet.

Your friend across the street is a Cadet in a Military Academy and taking into consideration the day of the week, Sunday, he is returning, back.

Introduction.

Military Academies exist in every modern country and their goal is to take civilians (mostly young boys aged 18–24) and after a few years of physical and educational training, provide military personnel to the Department in need, which could be either the Army, or the Navy, or the Airforce.
